Everyone that knows me know I’m a sucker for Fantasy, especially when they are about Fae and has magic with a bit of Arthurian in them.

Colour Wielders is the first novel in this series and one you should read as the story of Quinn and Arik starts. Quinn found out on her eighteenth birthday that she is actually a princess, and not just any princess, one of a magical kingdom. Now everyone from her kingdom wants her for her abilities, accept for Arik, my hero. Their relationship is instant and one I have to say, I don’t like very much, but for some reason it worked in this story.
The plot thickens and the two have to race against time to save the world. It was a really entertaining read and I have to give it to MS. Craver. She really did an amazing job with woven this tale into something entertaining and quite brilliant.

Severed Colours is her second part. This one was really emotional as you feel what the characters feel, especially Arik. Quinn felt betrayed by him and I do understand why she acted with the way she did, but knowing Arik, it was annoying at times. I love Arik in this one. He was so much more hotter and crept into my soul. The way he fought to get Quinn back, and everything that went with it was just so….ahhhh.
This book however, I feel was better, much better than the first one. I really love all the sex, lies, fights, magic…urgh…everything was just amazing.

For those of you that doesn’t know this series, please go and buy them. They are absolutely worth the read.

I got both copies from the author for an honest review and hers are worth every penny.

Take care,

Chapel Ryan isn’t crazy. At least, that’s what she’s been trying to convince herself of for most of her life. But after being hallucination-free for three years, Chapel finds herself facedown on her English classroom’s gritty linoleum floor. When she looks up, everyone around her is suspended in animation. Mouths hang open mid-yawn, feet hover mid-cross, Ms. Freeman’s arm flexes mid-sentence diagram. It’s another hallucination. Or, is it? Chapel prepares to tear herself back to reality when something happens. Something that has never happened before in any of her hallucinations–someone moves. And not just any someone—it’s the new guy with a scar over his lip and a reputation as black as his perfectly styled hair. And all of the sudden Chapel’s white-knuckle grip on her life has slipped, and with it, her assurance that what she’s experiencing isn’t real.

I was given this copy by my publisher for my honest review. Even though Holly is like a co-worker to me, it didn’t effect my opinion in any way.

Wow!!! Tempus is on of those YA books that want me to kick myself for not coming up with something like this.
She grabs you from the beginning of the novel. Her character are all beautiful developed and seem like the people living next door. I wish.

Now to get back to the actual story. Chapel gets hallucinations, one where times stops and leaves her alone while everyone around her is frozen. She hates them and just wanted them to stop. It’s how this story begins, in class while Chapel gets an hallucination. Holly has done them so well, she describe every little thing in detail and you can actually see the paper in the air, the chair with her best friend Timmy in, almost crashing back wards.

Then someone moves in her hallucination and it never happened before. Chapel’s whole life changed from that moment as Zay, our hotty, moved.

I personally swoon over Zay as I read thin novel. He is a typical book boyfriend that you can’t get enough of.  I loved every moment of Zay and Chapel interaction and all Holly’s characters are written so well. The dialogue is blow your mind away good and although this is a paranormal YA Novel it has that reality feel to it, which I love.

I couldn’t give Tempus a five rating, it’s a solid ten.

Well done with Tempus Holly and I can’t wait to get my hands on the second one.

Tempus is a novel I would recommend to anyone that loves a YA Paranormal.

Oh, my my my my….
This copy was given to me by the author for an honest opinion.

I loved the bodyguard movie with Kevin Costner and Whitney Houston and when I was asked to help with Zoya’s book tour, I grabbed this one with both hands as I got that same feeling of the Bodyguard. Now for Zoya’s Perfect Opposites.

It’s about Sasha who’s father is a bit of a nasty, greedy arms dealer. She tried so hard to break away from him and I have to admit she did a wonderful job of leaving her old life behind. She moved in her own apartment, got a room mate and studies all the time, occasionally go out with friends….you get the picture.

Then Sasha’s life gets threaten because of her father. That’s where Alex comes in. He’s big, scary, do what body guards do and was assign to protect Sasha. I couldn’t put the book down from here. It was so amazing to get to know these two character. I laughed so much at how she tried to ditch Alex and how Alex always find her. The bickering between them sure led to something and then you completely fall in love with the novel.

Zoya you told your story so well and I recommend this one for every body that just love that opposite attracts kind of novel and if you like men to be giants that throw their girls over shoulders rushing them to safety, this one sure is for you.

Five out of Five. This was an amazing read.

Kill Mandela by John Mountford

Kill Mandela (The Mandela Trilogy #1)

Jan Kruger has had the same nightmare for the past twenty five years: he opens his parent’s bedroom door, switches on the light, and is swallowed whole by the unspeakable horror that lies before him. Jan holds the imprisoned Nelson Mandela responsible for the trauma that robbed him of his heritage; and at last revenge is in sight.

Destiny and the broad platform of world history have overtaken the apartheid regime in South Africa. It is locked into endgame with the African National Congress, and intends to release the most famous prisoner in the world, Nelson Mandela.

But rogue agents of the regime seek to stop this. Will the ANC unleash the ethnic bloodbath of Project Vula? Will Mandela bring peace? There are those that will not take this chance: KILL MANDELA!

KILL MANDELA is the first novel in The Mandela Trilogy that explores the release, pain, joy and fear of the New South Africa – a saga of three families and the fateful meeting point between private and public life.

Jan Kruger’s vision of an Afrikaner nation set aside by God, called by Providence, custodians of a precious heritage, is torn asunder. His only wish is to protect his family and leave them some remnant of a legacy. Duty and service to the state have, for him, been debased into the shady world of counter-insurgency.

Jack Jarrard is an English immigrant, fired with ideals, social justice, enthusiasm. Outwardly he contends with a bitter marriage; inwardly he nurses a dire secret – his undercover work for the liberation movement.

Alpheus Mhambi is haunted by an act of terror, blood on his hands, and the desire for dignity, peace and reconciliation.
Can their children find a way forward in the maze of fear and suspicion, unknown territory, goodwill and deceit? Nelson Mandela, the world’s most famous prisoner, is to be released. A groundswell of reaction: KILL MANDELA!

I’ve read this book as part of our group Discussion on Goodreads.
I have to tell you, I don’t like politics and didn’t think that I would enjoy this book as much as I did.

Mr. Mountford done one hell of a job writing this novel. It covers more or less what happened twenty years back when Nelson Mandela was released from prison. I was only 14 at that time and was a really scary time in my life. We didn’t know what was going to happen with the new South Africa and will be be able to adapt to everything that will change. Again Mr. Mountford shows those fears through his characters and through many point of views and scenarios. I absolutely loved this book. Although a bit thick, I couldn’t put it down but was forced to at times since I have a very hectic reading and writing schedule.

His characters a developed in depth and to such an extension we had a chance to actually feel and experience what they had and questions about their actions will become yours. This story toyed with different emotions and I just have to give it to Mr. Mountford that capturing South Africa, especially Cape town is one of this books masterpieces.

He’s a real artist with words and paint our beautiful country to the last detail.

I will recommend this novel to anyone that like these type of stories. It is seriously one of the best I’ve written in a long time.
