Born on a dark and stormy night on the other side of the world from Richmond, VA, Leila Gaskin began a life full of imaginative wanderings. Inspired by her journey, Leila takes inspiration from the places she’s lived. She is the author of several short stories ranging from horror, speculative fiction, and science fiction. I love Dragons! Everyone that knows me, will know that about me. So when I got the information of hosting Hot Flashes, by Leila Gaskin, I didn’t think twice.
I think Leila has a very huge and clear imagination when capturing the dragons.
Her synopsis is awesome, that is one of the reasons I grabbed the book. The premise of the story grabbed my attention immediately.
I loved it for what it was, but I’m going to be honest, I wanted more.

I couldn’t put the book down when it was about Ella, but I struggled when it came to the Drakkons and the other world. I wasn’t so much into it.

Ella is a strong character, with flaws. I think plenty of people will connect with her. I loved Kaie, even though I’m not a cat person.

Like I said, it’s a strong premise, but I wasn’t so much in love with the story as I wanted.
I’m going to give it a four, because the writing style is beautiful and I did connect with the characters
